eSIM Installed but No Internet A Troubleshooting Guide

eSIM Installed but No Internet A Troubleshooting Guide

If your eSIM is installed but has no internet connection, first check the destination, the plan’s status and which line your phone is using for data. A profile can appear in settings before the service is able to connect.

Avoid deleting the eSIM as the first troubleshooting step. Some profiles cannot be installed again after removal, and a missing setting may be easier to correct while the original profile remains on the device.

Check whether you are in an included destination

Open the purchased product or issued instructions and confirm that the country you are in is covered. If you installed a travel eSIM at home, no connection there may be expected when the home country is outside its coverage.

Check the activation timing and validity too. A plan that has not reached its activation stage, has expired or has no available data needs a different response from a device settings problem.

Confirm the profile and line are enabled

Look for the travel profile in your cellular or SIM settings. If it is absent, you may have an installation issue rather than an installed service that cannot connect.

If it is present, confirm the line is enabled and selected for mobile data. A phone with several SIMs may still be trying to use the home line or a previous travel product.

Briefly turn off Wi-Fi and try a simple webpage. This prevents a working Wi-Fi connection from hiding a mobile data problem or confusing the result of a settings change.

Apply the settings supplied with the service

Follow the issued instructions for roaming and any access point name, often shortened to APN. An APN is a connection setting used by some services to route mobile data.

Do not copy APN values from an unrelated provider or randomly change network options. If the required details are missing or unclear, ask support for the correct values for that service.

Your home line and travel line can need different roaming settings. Confirm you are changing the intended line so troubleshooting does not accidentally enable paid roaming data on the other service.

Give the device a fresh connection attempt

Move to a place with a reasonable signal if possible. Buildings and local conditions can affect registration. A brief airplane mode cycle or an ordinary restart can prompt the device to connect again without removing the profile.

If the instructions advise automatic network selection, use that setting. If a particular network must be chosen, follow the plan’s guidance. Avoid a factory reset or broad network reset before support has assessed the simpler checks and their consequences.

Distinguish no internet from one app failing

Try more than one simple internet task. If webpages load but one app does not, the issue may be that app’s settings, account access or availability rather than the whole eSIM connection.

If only a laptop hotspot fails while mobile data works on the phone, check the plan’s tethering support and the device’s hotspot controls. Describe that distinction when asking for help.

Record what support needs to check

    • The order or service reference and exact device model.
    • The destination and approximate location where the issue occurs.
    • Whether installation completed and the profile appears in settings.
    • The exact error, available signal and result with Wi-Fi disabled.
    • The checks already completed, including data selection and issued settings.

Use a redacted screenshot when it helps show the error. Do not post the QR code, activation credentials, passwords or card details in a public discussion.

Ask before removing the profile

Use the OnePaddy help centre to reach the appropriate account support route. The OnePaddy FAQs explain why deletion should be discussed before removing a nonconnecting eSIM.

Keeping the original profile and a clear record of the checks gives support a better chance of identifying whether the problem is coverage, account status, device settings or the service itself.
